First, We Test The Science
Before a coat ever faces a rainy hack or a long day at the yard, the materials need to prove they can deliver the protection they are designed for. That starts with laboratory testing.
One of the key tests used to assess waterproof fabrics is Hydrostatic Head. It measures how much water pressure a fabric can withstand before water begins to penetrate, with the result recorded in millimetres. The higher the rating, the greater the level of water pressure the fabric can withstand.
EQUIDRY’s oversized and fitted coats feature a 20,000mm waterproof rating, meaning the fabrics have been engineered to withstand significant water pressure and can therefore keep riders protected against persistent and heavy rainfall.

A laboratory can tell you a huge amount about a fabric, but there is one thing it cannot fully recreate: riding.

We look at the details that matter when you are actually wearing a coat. Does it allow unrestricted movement in the saddle? Does it remain comfortable when reaching, bending or working around the yard? Can it withstand the demands of regular wear? Durability, comfort, fit and ease of movement all play a part in creating outerwear that works with the rider, rather than restricting them.
